    Anna Löhr, Blumenstillleben Strauß von bunten Sommerblumen vor hellem Grund, Aquarell und Deckfarben über Bleistiftzeichnung, um 1920–30, rechts unten signiert und bezeichnet "A. Löhr München", rückseitig aufgeklebter Auszug aus Dressler, minimal braunfleckig und gebräunt, hinter Glas gerahmt, Blattmaße ca. 42 x 34 cm. Künstlerinfo: eigentlich Dorothee Wilhelmine Anna Löhr, irrtümlich auch Anna Lohr, dt. Architektur-, Landschafts- und Stilllebenmalerin sowie Graphikerin und Buchschmuckkünstlerin (1870 Braunschweig bis 1955 Vechelde-Vechelade), Kindheit auf dem Horstkamp in Harxbüttel, zunächst Schülerin der Kunstgewerbeschule Braunschweig, 1890–94 Schülerin der Malerinnenschule Karlsruhe, 1898–1900 Weiterbildung bei Charles Johann Palmié in München, betrieb ab 1903 ein Schüleratelier in Braunschweig, 1944 Zerstörung eines Großteils des Frühwerks in Braunschweig im 2. Weltkrieg, Mitglied im Reichsverband bildender Künstler Deutschlands, in der Allgemeinen Deutschen Kunstgenossenschaft, im Künstlerverein Braunschweig und im Malerinnenverein Karlsruhe, tätig in Braunschweig, lebte zuletzt in Vechelade, Quelle: Thieme-Becker, Dressler, Müller-Singer, Saur "Bio-Bibliographisches Künstlerlexikon", Braunschweigisches Biographisches Lexikon und Info Bernhard Wolters im Artikel der "Peiner Allgemeine" von Markus Weber vom 13.06.2012.

Löhr.’ Dimensions: 73 x 60 cm Frame: 86.5 x 73.5 cm Very good condition Anna Löhr was one of the best known chroniclers of the ‘old’ and in the course of the Second World War largely destroyed city of Brunswick; the present painting shows the old town with St Ägidien in the background Condition: The painting is in very good condition, consistent with age. There are only faint marks, where the frame has rubbed. The stretcher measures 73 x 60 cm and the frame 86.5 x 73.5 cm. Anna Löhr (1870-1955) Anna Löhr was born in Brunswick, where she studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule as one of the first women of her generation. Further trips led the young artist to women’s art schools in Karlsruhe and Munich, where she became, for instance, a student of Charles Johann Palmié (1863-1911). A large part of her extensive oeuvre was destroyed during an air raid in 1944, but it initially comprised numerous landscape, architecture and still life paintings as well as graphic works. Today, a selection of her oil paintings is preserved at the Städtische Museum in Brunswick. (cbo) Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance.
