Measurements: 82 x 66 cm; 86 x 69 cm (frame). Anni Løgstrup was an enthusiast of Spanish culture, especially in the bullfighting field. This is demonstrated by the canvas in question, whose striking composition was a constant for the Danish painter: bullrings captured from a high point of view, with some spectators waiting to enter and others enjoying the show already begun. In the background, native dancers and architecture typical of Granada (in this case the Alhambra). Her language is markedly influenced by the artistic trends prevailing in the 1930s, when European surrealism spread throughout the world. Prominent artists took the ideas put forward by surrealism and incorporated them into their radical political philosophies, creating a new type of magical realism. This was epitomized in the work of artists such as Frida Kahlo and Diego Riviera in Mexico.
