This set of four watercolours by Osman Akbar feature types of different traditional houses in Malaysia. The artist manages to capture the uniqueness of each house. What these houses have in common is the Malay architecture that mainly uses woods to build, and some may even have it carved by hand to make it more distinctive. Osman Akbar Long is a self-taught watercolor and acrylic artist. He usually paints traditional activities, memorable scenes such as Kampung scene, Malaysian traditional games and Islamic calligraphy. The artist has participated in several exhibitions held locally and internationally. He is also a member of Persatuan Pelukis (PPM), Angkatan Pelukis Se-Malaysia (APS), Malaysia Watercolour Organisation (MWO) and Persatuan Pelukis Johor.
