Dick Lopeman Signed Original Pencil Sketch

        Est: $300 - $600

For your consideration is a Dick Lopeman Signed Original Pencil Sketch, 1976. Dick Lopeman (d. 1988) was raised in Wyoming, Utah, and Nevada. His formal training was at the American Academy of Art and also studied privately with John Bruce and Charles Cross. Lopeman received a commission from the San Bernadino County museum for a life size painting of Jedediah Smith and has also done a poster for the 1980 Apaloosa Horse Show, as well as many Western themed prints. This pencil sketch resembles Frederick Remington's "The Puncher"; the grizzled appearance belies the internal fortitude and savvy of years of experience earned by early cattle ranch hands. This superb piece is in very nice condition, the professionally mounted double-matted wood frame exhibits scuffing. Visible art measures 10"W x 14"L, frame is 18.5"W x 22.5"L x 1"D. Weight 4lb, 10oz.
