(19.7 x 13.8 in. folder) Signed in pencil on the white inferior recto margin with photographer's didactic stamp on the verso of the folder Although his notoriety is linked to his intense reportage activity for various periodicals such as 'Epoca' and 'Panorama', Giorgio Lotti is particularly attached to his personal research such as the one summarised in the two photographs shown here. The reflections of light on the barely moving water create unusual chromatisms that recall those of abstract painting.

Photograph of an Italian photographer Giorgio Lotti (b.1937), depicting Premier Zhou En Lai dressed in an iconic Mao Suit, seen seated in an armchair looking into the distance with a cup of tea in front of him. Zhou Enlai (1898-1976) was a Chinese statesman, diplomat, and revolutionary who served under Chairman Mao Zedong as the first Premier of the People's Republic of China from September 1954 until his death in January 1976. Horizontal. Good condition, creasing, crease marks, bumps on edges. Country of issue: China, designer: Giorgio Lotti, size (cm): 37.5x49.5, year of printing: 1979; 2. blank sheet for certificates featuring images of a Red Star, red Communist flags, with a frame of wheat and peonies symbolising wealth and prosperity, electric power lines, construction and a train. Horizontal. Good condition, creasing, folds, red elements are made of soft felt. Country of issue: China, designer: Unknown, size (cm): 27x39, year of printing: 1950s; 3. blank sheet for Certificate of Commendation featuring images of a Red Star, and red Communist flags, with a frame of wheat and a plant in the centre, gas and coal plants, agricultural fields, dam, and rice fields bove. Horizontal. Good condition, creasing, small tears. Country of issue: China, designer: Unknown, size (cm): 26x39, year of printing: 1950s; 4. blank sheet possibly used for a certificate with an image of a steamship on the water, a bridge with trucks and a train, a golden wheat frame, and Communist flags with a red star above. Horizontal. Good condition, creasing. Country of issue: China, designer: Unknown, size (cm): 27x38, year of printing: 1950s; 5. certificate sheet commemorating Honourable Retirement, featuring a green field in the foreground with electric power lines and a bridge going towards an industrial setting with factories, Communist flags and a red star above, held in an ornate frame.
