D.S., 1p. 6 1/4" x 2 3/4", Baltimore, May 5, 1948, a check from the First National Bank of Baltimore, completed by a Mary Owings Miller, paying Lowell five dollars for his role as a judge for the Patron''s Prize in Poetry. The check has been endorsed by Lowell in blue on the verso. Stamped as paid, not affecting the signature. Very good.
