      Chess game. 1930s. Vintage gelatin silver print on chamois paper. 11,8 x 11,8 cm. French agency stamp, photographer's typed name and layout marks in pencil on the verso. - - The photographer, painter and writer Peter Lufft studied philosophy in Lausanne. In the early 1930s he purchased a Leica and dedicated himself to photography. After the war, he found employment in the cultural department in Wölfenbüttel and organized and curated various art exhibitions in Braunschweig. In the early 1970s, he founded the gallery "Querschnitt" in Braunschweig. He retired in the early 1990s in Wolfenbüttel.
