        Est: RM5,000 - RM9,000

Kampung Pantai Berserah is the oldest fisherman’s village in that area. It is filled with fishing activities as it is the main source of income for the people. People are seen resting under the gazebo. The artist brilliantly captured the lighting and shadow effect. On hot sunny day, it’s a bliss to be under the shades. YONG LOOK LUM (b. 1962) REST, 2004, Watercolour on paper

        Est: RM4,500 - RM8,000

Fishing’s out! There’s still much light about but all the boats are moored near the makeshift jetty. Maybe, they have returned early from sea due to a good harvest of they might be having a bad day with no catch at all. Or the seas may be too rough for these small boats. Whatever, for the fishermen, it is something to be thankful for, to be back or at home safely. The waters are murky tea-coloured because of accumulated sediments, either natural or from irresponsible residents of the colony of stilt-houses. Yong Look Lam obtained a double Diploma from the Kuala Lumpur College of Art (Painting, 1982; and Watercolours, 1983). He was adjudged 2nd runner-up in the prestigious Malaysia UOB Painting of the Year in 2011 besides 2nd Prize in the Malaysian Landscape art competition organised jointly by the National Art Gallery and Public Finance in 1984. Est: RM4,500 - RM8,000

The obscure figures seated at the open doorway of the stilt attap house reflect the contentment and simple pleasures of kampung folk despite their sparing living conditions. The house with the thatched slope tilting to the right has what look like prop poles on the left. In the sultry weather, the trees around it provide some kind of palliation, while a pet seems none the worse on the sand in the open.Yong Look Lam explores traditional work culture around fishing boats and stilt-house villages apart from the architectural heritage of pre-War buildings. Est: RM4,500 - RM8,000

It’s a lazy day with four sampan boats idling by, three parked just near the jetty where they can be seen a small group of people taking shelter under what looks like a shed with a corrugated-zinc roof. The topography of vertical bakau poles of uneven height standing abutting the jetty platform like makeshift railings contrasts with the horizontal platform of serrated planks cutting the composition nearly into half.
