Bill Mack Sold at Auction Prices

b. 1949 -

Born in Minneapolis in 1944, artist Bill Mack has developed a sculpture style uniquely his own. Though Mack has no formal art training, his early work as a draftsman prepared him to make the jump from producing bronze medallions as a freelance artist to creating contemporary sculptures for galleries worldwide. Avant-garde sculptures by Bill Mack incorporate substances like silicone and resin that give his work a unique immediacy and lifelike quality. Artist Bill Mack's most memorable pieces are sculpted from remnants of the original Hollywood sign. He acquired the sign after it fell into disrepair and was in storage for about 25 years. From it, he formed the likeness of Golden Hollywood actors like Rita Hayworth and James Dean. Everyone from presidents to celebrities collected these and other pieces of Bill Mack's art for sale.Browse one-of-a-kind figure sculptures for sale at Invaluable to diversify your art portfolio.

  • Bill Mack "Radiance" Bonded Sand Sculpture
    Mar. 12, 2025

Bill Mack "Radiance" Bonded Sand Sculpture

    Est: $1,000 - $2,000

Bill Mack (American, b. 1949) "Radiance" Bonded Sand Limited Edition Wall Sculpture. Depicting a reclining partially nude woman. Year made - 1990. Numbered - 95/125. Originally purchased from Sundook Art Galleries, comes with COA from Sundook. Measures approx. with frame - 40" high x 73 1/2" wide x 6" deep. Bill Mack has produced relief sculptures for over 30 years and is internationally recognized as the contemporary master of this art form. He has developed a unique style called "alto relief" in which some elements of his creations project from the background into full-round parts. Since introducing his works in Galleries a decade ago, he has received worldwide recognition, and editions of his relief sculptures are regularly selling out. Bill Mack is a master draftsman. His relief sculptures are prefigured by many drawings before he begins the actual sculpting. Mack's work also responds to another unique requirement to successfully accomplish relief sculpture: the ability to foreshorten. To appear realistic, the figures, or objects in a relief sculpture must be altered to correct the optical distortion inherent in this art form. This manipulation of the distorted third dimension is a special skill that separates Bill Mack from all other artists, and can only be acquired through decades of extensive experience. • Bill Mack "Radiance" Bonded Sand Sculpture
    Oct. 07, 2024

Bill Mack "Radiance" Bonded Sand Sculpture

    Est: $2,000 - $4,000
