BIOGRAPHY: Padraig MacMiadhachain studied at Belfast College of Art, the National Art College in Dublin, before winning a traveling scholarship to Moscow and Poland, then studied at the Academy of Art, Cracow before settling in Dorset with his wife the artist Bonnie Brown.MacMiadhachain traveled and painted widely in Central America, North America, North Africa and the Far East.Padraig has lived for the past 45 years on the Isle of Purbeck, painting in a quasi-mystical, abstract style. Like his better known contemporary, Tony O'Malley, he has spent some time in Cornwall, and has had solo exhibitions at the Arts Council Gallery in Belfast, Lincoln Gallery in London, the New Millennium Gallery in St Ives and most recently at the Molesworth Gallery, Dublin. He also shows at the annual RA exhibition and with the RUA, the RWA and numerous mixed shows.
