Condition A- / A: slight time-staining in margins; minor abrasions in image; reds slightly attenuated. Marsh was a prominent illustrator, who contributed covers and images for publications such as Woman's Home Companion; The Saturday Evening Post and Cosmopolitan and created ads for companies like Jell-O and Ivory soap. Marsh also designed at least one other poster for the YWCA, entitled The Play's The Thing.

Size: 17 1/2 x 24 1/4 in./44.5 x 61.7 cm The National League for Woman's Service was organized to carry out practical home front war work beginning in January of 1917 ? nearly three months before the United States entered into World War I. The objectives of the organization were to coordinate and standardize the work of American women along lines of constructive patriotism, to develop the resources to promote the efficiency of women in meeting their everyday responsibilities to the home, the state, the nation, and to provide organized, well-trained groups in every community to cooperate with the Red Cross and other relief agencies dealing with domestic calamities.
