        Conrado Walter Massaguer (Cuban, 1889-1935). Massaguer was one of Cuba's great cartoonists, caricaturists and graphic artists. He was the Art Director of the magazine Social (founded in 1916), had many of his caricatures published in American magazines (Life, Cosmopolitan, The New Yorker and Vanity Fair) and designed artwork for Cuba's pavilion at the 1939 World's Fair in New York. This same image was also used on postcards bearing the caption, "So Near and yet so Foreign." Rare. Portrait. Charcoal on Paper. 1940s-1950s. 10 1/2" x 7 3/4" in.
