      • Griffon. 1910.
        May. 04, 2008

        Griffon. 1910.

        Est: $1,000 - $1,200

Griffon. 1910.The portly gentleman awaiting a fresh slice of bread to compliment his already plated sausage could quite easily be the same one who appeared in another Matet Griffon design (see PAI-XXXVII, 392), a fellow whose ride of choice there is a motorized Griffon cycle. In fact, this entire riding party looks to be composed of the exact same personages that rode a full array of Griffon vehicles in a Matet Griffon design from the previous year (see PAI-XLI, 20). Here, having arrived at a lovely picnic spot, the extended narrative continues, with the picnickers dismounting from their various Griffons in order to enjoy a delightful roadside repast. Positively charming. JEAN MATET (1870-?)
