        Ikki Matsumoto (1945-2014) Limited Edition Lithograph, Signed by the artist in pencil and numbered 1008/2000. Professionally framed. Measures 15" x 12 1/8" x 1". Total Weight 2 lbs. Ikki was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1935 to a well-known cartoonist and children's book illustrator Katsuji Matsumoto. At the age of 20 Ikki travel to the United States to study at the John Herron School of Art in Indianapolis. He later transferred to the Art Academy of Cincinnati to study under the renowned wildlife artist Charles Harper. He painted for many years on Sanibel Island in Florida.

Big blue, red eyed fish being followed by a school of smaller red fish. Signed and stamped in lower right. Title on lower right. 76/99 on bottom middle. Ikki Matsumoto was born in Tokyo, Japan. Transferred to the Art Academy of Cincinnati to study under Charles Harper. Was one of fifty artists chosen by first lady, Nancy Reagan to paint an Easter egg. The C & S National Bank on Sanibel commissioned 30 original paintings which are on public display throughout their building. It is the largest corporate collection of Ikki's work.         Ikki Matsumoto "Street Vendor, Guatemala" Lithograph. An early work of his, this one has an image size of 17.5" x 22", triple matted with an overall size of 26" x 31". Ikki was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1935 to a well-known cartoonist and children's book illustrator Katsuji Matsumoto. In 1985 Ikki was one of 50 artist chosen by first lady Nancy Reagan to paint an Easter Egg. It is now in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Museum. A Sanibel Island resident, On December 31, 2013 Ikki passed away just one day before his 79th birthday.
