      Wilhelm Meier (born 1880 Ambrach): Portrait bust of H. Wagner (1885-1949), 20th century, Original-Photograph Technique: Original-Photograph on Paper Date: 20th century Description: inscribed lower left "Wilh. Meier", titled "Portrait Bust of Hans Wagner". Photograph of the portrait bust of Hans WAGNER. Captured in strict profile, the striking and charackteristic facial features of the sitter are particularly elaborated. Born in Affeltrangen, Austria, in 1885, Hans WAGNER attended the School of Applied Arts in Munich. In the autumn of 1913 he acquired a patent as a drawing teacher for Switzerland. Numerous sketches, drawings and prints have been preserved, which Wagner produced in a wide variety of media - such as charcoal, watercolour or as woodcuts.
