      After Johan Peter Molin (Swedish, 1814-1873), "Bältespännare (The Fighters)"-1864, cast bronze, apparently unsigned. 20th century cast bronze sculpture after the original by noted Swedish sculptor Johan Peter Molin (Swedish, 1814-1873), depicting two men engaged in a fist fight, each partially nude with some draping fabric that swirls as the figures clash, each with a knife or blade in hand. Overall approximately 17.5" x 12.125" x 8". Provenance: From the Private Collection of the author Mr. William T. Parker, Atlanta, Georgia.

      MOLIN, JOHANN PETER 1814 Göteborg - Vaxholm 1873 Bältespännare Bisquitporzellan. Hoher viereckiger Sockel mit narrativen Reliefszenen. Auf annähernd ovaler Plinthe bewegte Darstellung zweier Messerkämpfer, die durch einen Gürtel verbunden sind. Rückseitig auf der Plinthe bezeichnet 'I.P. Molin Stockholm 17/3/1864'. Auf dem Sockel Manufakturmarke Gustafsberg und Anker, part. besch., Ges.-H. 80 cm. Johann Peter Molin, Mitglied der schwedischen Kunstakademie fertigte 1859 in Paris die Bronzeausführung zu der Gruppe 'Bältespännare'. 1867 wurde sie in Bronze gegossen in Stockholm ausgestellt.
