This photo of Gino Molin-Pradel depicts the Austrian artist Arnulf Rainer in front of his works from the series ‘Cadaveri’ from 1980. Rainer is regarded as the founder of the Informel in Austria and one of the most influential living contemporary artists. Molin-Pradel was a chronicler of the Austrian and German art scene from the 1970s, 80s and 90s. He created portraits of important personalities such as Peter Turrini, Gottfried Helnwein, Friedrich Gulda, Martin Kippenberger and George Tabori. The photograph is monogrammed and dated lower right in felt pen ‘GMP 80’ and bears the copyright stamp of the artist on verso. The print is in very good condition considering its age; the upper and lower margins are a little soiled outside the representation.
