      • RAFFAELE MONTI THE INFANCY OF JUPITER PARIAN CAST
        Dec. 30, 2024

RAFFAELE MONTI THE INFANCY OF JUPITER PARIAN CAST

        Est: $500 - $700

A casting of Raffaele Monti's 'The Infancy of Jupiter', depicting an infant Zeus with the nymph Amalthea and her goat. The sculpture is parian ware and strongly resembles marble. There is a small crack on the right side of the cast, but this is not affecting the structural integrity of the piece. A small amount of the hoof of the goat is chipped off, but is barely noticeable. Piece bears a facsimile of Monti's signature and the date 1871 on the back. Produced by Copeland. 10 X 20 X 8 inches, weighs 15.2 pounds. Local pick-up suggested. Very good, original condition.
