John Lodge. The Peerage of Ireland: or, a Genealogical History of the Present Nobility of that Kingdom. With Engravings of their Paternal Coats of Arms. Dublin: James Moore, 1789. Revised and enlarged edition. Five octavo volumes. Two volumes (volumes I and VII) with numerous armorial engravings. Bound to style in nineteenth-century full tree calf, spines double-ruled in gilt with red and green gilt morocco lettering labels. Volume VII rebacked, preserving the original spine labels, the spine of that volume is a bit rough, the spine of volume I is creased, some rubbing to bindings, text with occasional thumbsoiling and foxing, armorial plates are generally clean. Overall, a near fine set.
