      Roma 1859 - 1941 Coppia di bozzetti raffiguranti San Paolo e San Benedetto Olio su tela, cm 35X46 (2) Provenienza: Finarte, Milano, 9 novembre 1999, lotto 277 I bozzetti in esame sono un eccellente esempio dell'arte di Vincenzo Morani, pittore di formazione classica desunta dai modelli raffaelleschi e barocchi. La sua formazione si svolse all'Istituto di Belle Arti a Napoli dove dal 1828 fu allievo del Cammarano e dal 1830 al 1857 lavorò all'Abbazia benedettina di Cava dei Tirreni e le tele qui presentate, si suppongono studi dedicati a questa impresa. A suggerirlo sono i santi benedettini San Beda, San Leandro e San Romualdo e logicamente San Benedetto raffigurati. Bibliografia di riferimento: S.
