Original Vintage Italian Travel Poster Ravello by Publio Morbiducci 1933

Ravello is an ancient mountaintop village located above Italy's Amalfi Coast. Ravello dates to the 12th century, and its architectural doors frame this handsome image of the town's famous Villa Rufolo. This charming poster was created by ENIT, the Italian national tourism board. Villa Rufolo was built by a successful merchant family in the 1200s. Its architecture is medieval in style and combines both Greek, Arab, and Moorish influences from its close proximity to important sea trading routes along the Mediterranean Sea. The Villa was first mentioned in Bocaccio's Decameron in 1353. The once sleepy medieval village of Ravello became a haven for artists, musicians, and poets in the late 1800s, when Grand Tours became popular. Robert Wagner wrote his Parsifal opera while staying at Villa Rufolo, and other notable visitors include Virginia Woolf, D.H. Lawrence, Winston Churchill, and Greta Garbo. It remains a popular destination for celebrities looking to enjoy the pleasures of the Amalfi Coast in a more private way. ENIT, The Italian National Tourist Board, was founded in 1919 with the objective of attracting visitors to Italy from around the globe. In this case, ENIT was likely promoting travel to the outer countryside to locals that lived in Florence. This poster was created by Publio Morbiducci (1889-1963), an artist most known for his sculptural works. He created designs for Italian currency, as well as the 1936 Olympics. This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.

Manoscritto autografo delle poesie di Ettore Cozzani, cc. (3), num. 72, (3) con intercalati 10 raffinatissimi disegni originali a penna di Publio Morbiducci. Edizione di 50 copie numerate da 1 a 50, più 5 copie numerate da A a E. Copia n. 35. Dedica autografa di Cozzani "a poche anime care". Sul foglio di guardia incollato un dattiloscritto esplicativo sulle circa 70 liriche scritte ogni volta a mano dall'autore e illustrate in ogni esemplare da un artista diverso. Si fanno i nomi di Publio Morbiducci, Giacomo Gabbiani, Valerio Fraschetti, Dyalma Stultus, Enrico Castello e Pietro Annigoni. Pertanto ogni esemplare costituisce un prezioso unicum. Legatura in t. tela, tit. oro al dorso, entro cofanetto. Dimensioni: cm 25x17. La raccolta poetica Motivi per un poema d'amore scritta a mano e illustrata dagli artisti amici e fedeli era il tentativo di Cozzani di riprendersi moralmente e materialmente dopo la fine de "L'Eroica" e l'episodio doloroso dell'internamento nel campo di concentramento di Bresso dove nel 1945 era stato rinchiuso ingiustamente accusato di filo-fascismo. Les colonnes cannelées en placage d'érable blanc et ornées de sujets et de poignées en bronze moulé pivotent grâce à un mécanisme secret pour faire apparaître quatre étagères par colonne. Les bronzes de Publio Morbiducci. Trace d'estampille. Bookcase with two rotating columns and compartiments on the front, in walnut and ash coloured veneer. The fluted columns in white maple veneer and adorned with subjects and cast bronze handles, rotate due to a secret mechanism to reveal four shelves on each column.
