With cuts for the orderly placing the dishes and courses, 'The second edition, corrected', folding woodcut bill of fare, 6 full-page woodcut bills of fare, folding bill of fare with section missing at lower corner and partially lightly silked verso, Q4 tear, with loss of a few letters recto, occasional worming, mostly marginal, but occasionally encroaching on text (mostly in sig.G), just touching the odd letter, some spotting and staining / water-staining, lightly browned, contemporary panelled calf, rebacked, corners worn, rubbed and marked, [Maclean pp.104-106; Oxford p.78; cf. Cagle 888 (second edition, with a different imprint)], large 12mo, Leeds, Printed by James Lister, and sold by the author at Pontefract, [c.1743]. ⁂ Rare, with ESTC recording only two copies (Leeds and Alexander Turnbull). ESTC also records another similarly rare 'second edition, corrected' bearing a different imprint. Provenance: 'Ann Shawe' (contemporary ink signatures).
