Von zahlreichen Felserhebungen flankierter Weg, der den Hang heraufführt, seitlich felsige Hügel mit einem Burgruinenturm, rechts erhöht im Licht stehend ein Gehöft mit Giebeldach. In der rechten Bildecke ein rauschender Wasserlauf. Im Vordergrund eine junge Magd in einem von einem Kälbchen gezogenen Wagen, im Gespräch mit einem jungen Bauern. Weiter hinten ein Schäfer mit seinen Weidetieren. Links oben zwei Birken über Felsgestein. Im Hintergrund abziehende Gewitterwolken mit aufhellendem Himmel.
