Two more bathers are on the other bank. Labelled in handwriting and signed on the back "Bernhard Müller - Dresden - Schweizer Str. 19". Painting dimensions 153.5 x 198.5 cm. In a plain wooden frame measuring 117 x 221 cm. Bernhard Müller was a German painter and glass painter from Niederpoyritz/Dresden. After completing a practical apprenticeship with a church painter, he studied at the Munich Academy under Weinhold, Herterich and Hackl, as well as under Gußmann in Dresden from 1906. In addition to numerous landscape paintings, portraits and murals, he also produced glass paintings, mostly for churches in the Dresden area. In 1939 and 1942, three of his large-format landscape paintings with nude figures were shown at the Great German Art Exhibition in Munich. The painting "Sommerzeit" offered for auction here was also part of the 1942 exhibition, as was his painting "Gelöste Stunde" (A Relaxed Hour), which was acquired from the exhibition by Adolf Hitler.
