      MÜLLER, Gabriel(1688 Ansbach - Nuremberg) Johann Carl Ebner von Eschenbach Oil on vellum. Unsigned. 31.5 x 21 cm. Framed39 x 29 cm. Councilor as a member of the Council of Appeal in Nuremberg, Governor of the Mendel Twelve Brothers Foundation and the Saint Jobster Foundation. Ebner wears fur hood, millstone collar, wig and the golden chain of the patricians. Below cupid with his coat of arms and the coat of arms of his wife Maria Christina, née von Harsdörfer, script cartouche. Collection stamp on the reverse, old inscribed. Original profile frame Johann Carl Ebner von Eschenbach, 1682 - 1747 Nuremberg. Ebner von Eschenbach and Volckamer von Kirchensittenbach, two of the oldest patrician families of the Imperial City of Nuremberg. First mentioned in 1251 and 1278, represented in the Inner Council in 1319 and 1362-1806. In 1363, the Volckamers acquired the famous Nassau House opposite St. Lawrence's Church. Müller, called Kupezky-Müller, painter. Pupil and collaborator of Johann Kupezky (1667 Bösing - 1740 Nuremberg) * Partner auction Bergmann. Literature : Thieme-Becker (1907-1950). Provenance : Guido von Volckamer`sche Familien-Sammlung, Munich as well as Guido Volckamer von Kirchensittenbach, Administrator of the J.C. von Schlüsselfelder`sche Familien-Stiftung, Kugelhammer Castle, near Feucht-Nuremberg, Nassau House July 10, 1930 (Guido Volckamer, 1860 Passau - 1940 Munich, art collector and photographer. Part of his collection was included in the Germanisches Nationalmuseum).
