June Mullen "Grand Canyon North Rim" Oil Painting

"Grand Canyon North Rim" oil painting was created by American artist June Mullen. This painting was created for the Hassayampa Inn in Prescott, Arizona. The owner wanted a large, dramatic painting of the Grand Canyon to hang in his hotel. June's brother, who worked at the hotel at this time, convinced the owner to hire his sister to create the painting for him. June spent the next six months painting what became a beautiful, historic view of the north rim of the Grand Canyon. Soon after finishing this painting, June passed away. The artist signed the painting in the lower right and added the year '88. The approximate canvas size is 48" x 72". The simple gold frame with a white linen liner and gold fillet has approximate dimensions of 57" x 81" x 2". Some cracking on the upper portion of the painting and two small areas of missing paint at the bottom left. The approximate weight is 27 lbs.
