Moshe Murro (1888-1957), "Tefilla" ("Prayer"), relief. Jerusalem, [1906-29]. Marked (Hebrew) "MM"; marked on back (Hebrew-English) "Bezalel moro." Arched plaque featuring a Jewish figure wrapped in a "tallit" prayer shawl. On top, a menorah with intertwined branches, typical of the Bezalel School. Title at bottom (Hebrew): "Tefilla" ("Prayer"). Moshe Murro (1888-1957), was a Bezalel School artist. He was a painter and sculptor who specialized in reliefs. 7X3.5 cm. Good condition. 1. Moshe Murro (1888-1957), Prominent Bezalel Artist, Thessaloniki Jew, Rare Bronze Embossment!, circa 1920s-30s British Mandate period, attached on top of a plate coated in brown faux-leather with edges minted with a repeating gold pattern, a leg for leaning on a table on its reverse, marked: 'M. Murro Bezalel', plaque measurements: 6.3X4.7 cm. Plate measurements: 14.7X10.5 cm. Wear and abrasions mainly to the plate's edges.

Lapel Pin and Two Rings "Kofer HaYishuv" Jewelry Donation Drive

Lapel pin and two rings that were given against the donation of jewelry to the "Kofer HaYishuv" ("Community Ransom") fundraising campaign. [Palestine, late 1930s or 1940s]. 1. Lapel pin reading "Community Ransom Gift of Jewels 1938-9" (Hebrew). Designed by Moshe Murro (1888-1957), painter and sculptor, founder of the "HaKame'ah" workshop in Bezalel. Signed on verso: "M. Murro, Jerusalem" (Hebrew). Approx. 1.5X1.5 cm. 2-3. Two brass rings reading "Kofer HaYishuv", one for a woman and the other for a man. Diameter: 17 mm and 20 mm. "Kofer HaYishuv" ("Community Ransom"), a fundraising campaign to finance the security needs of the Yishuv, was established in 1938, during the 19361939 Arab revolt in Palestine. One of the drives in the campaign was titled "Gift of Jewelry" wherein the members of the Yishuv donated their best Jewelry, utensils and even their wedding rings. In return, they received a brass ring, a pin or a desktop paper holder with the logo of "Kofer HaYishuv". Provenance: The Rimon Family Collection.

An album which sarved as a catalogue of the Betzalel artist Moshe Murro (1888-1957), who had a workshop for sculpting in ivory and stone, 1920s-1930s.The album has original photographs of more than 50 of his works, brass and bronze embossments, sculpting in ivory and stone accompanied by titles: in the Old City, Eliezer ben Yehuda, Henrietta Szold, Balfour, etc.- some of them are rare and unknown works that were given as gifts. Pasted to the album are later black and white photographs, which were cut out of booklets and newspapers. A photograph of Eliezer ben Yehuda's portrait with a dedication in his handwriting "a souvenir for the artist Moshe Murro...", a photograph of a letter of thanks from Henrietta Szold, a letter from Yoseph Koplowitz and other letters of thanks. On the front of the album is a photograph of JNF's Golden Book. [24] Leaves in the album with wooden cover, 30.5 cm. Good condition, varied.

Spinning top, cast lead. Moshe Murro, Bezalel, 1929. Stamped "Bezalel Jerusalem" in Hebrew and English with the addition of "Ness Gadol Haya Sham." Signed "M. Murro 1929" on the lower section. In the center is a decoration of a Menorah and jar of oil and also "Judah the Defeated" and "Judah the Free" and the letters ?.?.?.?. Flower decoration on the lower section. The artist Moshe Murro (1888-1957) studied at Bezalel from 1921; he established the "Kame'a" factory for sculpting amulets in ivory and stone. 3x3x6 cm. Good condition.
