(170 x 130 cm.) Very good condition Estimate $2,000-$2,500 Provenance Galeria de la Ciudadela, Punta del Este. Highly descriptive of Musso’s oeuvre, “Personajess” is emotive and gestural. Taking into consideration the socio-political undercurrents of mid-century Latin America, Musso takes the image of a cubist figure, slightly abstracted, with a very expressive and dark palette. Carlos Musso (Uruguayan, b. 1954) Closely associated with neo-expressionism, Uruguayan artist Carlos Musso’s works explore the rebelliousness and non-conformist mentality of a generation born from civil unrest and political strife. His works have been exhibited in Uruguay and worldwide, including the 2001 Cuenca Biennale Exhibition in Ecuador. Musso’s works can be found in the American Art Museum, Maldonado, Uruguay; the J.M. Blanes Museum, Montevideo; and the Del Gaucho y la Moneda Museum, Montevideo. Condition Slight stretcher marks along lower edge, otherwise in good condition.
