      (pittore attivo negli anni 1658 - 1662) Soldati che giocano a Tric-Trac in un granaio Firmato e datato Natus: fec. /p 1659 in basso al centro Olio su tavola, cm 43X52,5 Provenienza: Sotheby's, Amsterdam, 8 maggio 2001, lotto 3 Bibliografia: https://rkd.nl/explore/images/108692 Quasi nulla si sa della vita e della carriera di Johannes Natus, tranne che nel 1662 è documentato alla Gilda di San Luca a Middelburg, città olandese seconda solo ad Amsterdam come importante centro commerciale durante il XVII secolo (Thieme / Becker 1907-1950 , vol. 25 (1931), pag. 357-358). L'artista sembra essersi specializzato in rappresentazioni d'interni di taverna risolte con un'alta qualità e figure di sapore monumentale rispetto ai formati contenuti, la qualità della luce e i colori in cui gli suggerisce che potrebbe aver trascorso del tempo in Italia.
