Henry Simpson Newland(1873-1969) was a surgeon from Adelaide. He studied at the University of Adelaide and later London. "He served with the Australian Imperial Force in Egypt, Lemnos, Gallipoli and France, gaining experience of military surgery at Ypres and Passchendaele." (ADB)
