    Solomon Nikritin, a watercolor painting depicting a crowd of people riding in a subway train. Signed by the author on the verso "S. Nikritin". Housed in a wooden frame. Additionally inscribed on the verso both in Russian and English. Solomon Borisovitch Nekritin (1898-1965) was an Soviet Ukrainian painter, graphic artist and theatrical designer. He is mostly known for his avant-garde, neo-primitivist and constructivist works. Nekritin was one of the favorite artists of George Costakis (1913-1990), a prominent Russian-Greek collector of avant-garde and unofficial Soviet art.
