        Edme Antony Paul Noel (1845-1909), Lady, bronze, 23.75 x 12.75 x 12.75" Tony Noël entered theÉcole nationale superieure des beaux-artsinParis, where he was a pupil ofEugene Guillaume,Eugene-Louis LequesneandJules Cavelier. In 1868, he was crowned with the firstprice of Romefor hisTheseus, winner of the Minotaur. He started at theSalon of French artistsin 1872, which he abandoned in 1891 for the salon of theSociete nationale des beaux-artswhere he exhibited regularly until 1901. He was awarded a second class medal in 1872, a medal first class in 1874, a second class medal at the1878 World Fair, a grand prize at the1889 World Fair. He was appointed professor of modeling during the evening of theSchool of Fine Artsin 1905. Tony Noël dies inVillebon-sur-YvetteonOctober3,1909and is buried in Paris inthe Pere-Lachaise cemetery(35thdivision).
