(height). - Sm. chip on the left ear lobe; repaired cracks, probably repaired by the artist. = From the estate of the artist. A bronze cast was bought by the artist society Arti et Amicitia in 1929. It is depicted in the album included in this lot. Idem. "Werken van L.S.W. van der Noordaa". Album w. mounted photographs, drawings and newspaper clippings, contemp. cl. = Album compiled by the artist or his family with photographs of several of his works, i.a. those in this auction. It shows the sculptures for the municipal hall of Boskoop, the building of Standard Oil in Batavia, the B.P.M. building in Batavia. Also original drawings from his childhood (i.a. dated 1910) and illustrations for Dutch Indies publications. Also a few photographs of the artist at work, i.a. on a bust of her royal highnes Ratu Timor, wife of Pangeran Adipati Ario Mangkoenagaro VII of Solo, who sits for the artist.
