Born in the United States, Grace O'Connor moved to the UK at the age of sixteen. She attended the Royal Academy Schools and has a studio in London, but the influence of her childhood is a constant presence in her work. American landscapes and teenagers appear in surreal settings that feel at once familiar and distant. O'Connor was shortlisted for the Jerwood Drawing Prize in 2007 and has had solo exhibitions at the Boundary Gallery, the Paul Stolper Gallery, and the Grosvenor Gallery.
