      Thom O'Connor American, (b. 1937) portrait sketch etching Pencil signed lower right, numbered 15/50 lower center. Biography from AnnexGalleries.com: Thom O'Connor, printmaker and teacher, was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1937. He studied at the University of Michigan and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida State University and his Master of Fine Arts degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art. He was the recipient of a printer fellowship at Tamarind Lithography Workshop, Los Angeles, in 1964, a Fulbright grant and National Endowment for the Arts grant. A master technician, O'Connor was an early pioneer of digital printmaking and photo-polymer plate technology for fine art printing. He was professor of art at the State University of New York, Albany from 1960 until he retired in 2000. O'Connor also taught at the Swedish Academy of Fine Arts and the Finnish Academy and was a visiting professor at the University of Michigan. Thom O'Connor's work is represented in the collections of the Baltimore Museum of Art, Maryland; the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo, New York; the Amon-Carter Museum of American Art, Fort Worth, Texas; the Indianapolis Museum of Art, Indiana; the British Museum, London; the Museum of Modern Art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; the Memorial Art Gallery, University of Rochester, New York; the Norton Simon Museum, Pasadena, California; and the National Gallery of Art and the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington, D.C.

      Eight (8) Thom O'Connor (American, B. 1937) pencil signed and numbered etchings. Sheets measure 14 in. x 10.25 in. and 13 in. x 17.25 in. Unframed, loose and not mounted or glued down. Provenance: The Amity Arts Foundation Collection. If lot is absent of a condition report one may be requested via email. Condition report is provided as an opinion only and is no guarantee as grading can be subjective. Buyer must view photographs or scans to assist in determining condition and ask further questions if so desired. Our in-house shipping department will gladly pack and ship any item that fits into a 14x14x14 inch or 30x5x24 inch or equivalent or smaller box/folio if it is not fragile or over 25lbs. We will charge for labor to pack and process based on actual time it takes, actual cost of materials used to pack and actual shipper charges that will include insurance and signature required. We generally use USPS and Fed Ex and compare the pricing between the two. Books maximum box size will be 14x14x14 inch or equivalent and will be shipped USPS Media Mail unless otherwise requested. All etchings signed 'Thom O'Connor' in lower right. This limited edition (I - L) portfolio is printed on Arches Buff paper. This set is number XXXII. Set includes original maroon colored cloth. Each sheet measures 12-in. x 9-in. sheet size. The portfolio measures 12.75-in. x 9.875-in. x 0.5-in. All sheets in VG-VG+/EX-EX+ condition, with small pieces of tape residue from previous matting, does not affect images or text. Unframed, loose and not mounted or glued down.
