    Kinderbildnis ihrer Schwägerin Alexandra um 1832 Fein gemaltes Pastellbildnis der Königin Marie von Hannover (geb. Prinzessin von Sachsen-Altenburg, 1818 - 1907) mit ihren drei Schwestern Therese (1823 - 1915), Alexandra (Großfürstin von Russland, 1830 - 1911) und Elisabeth (Großherzogin von Oldenburg, 1826 - 1896). Maße 45 x 56 cm. Nicht signiert. Gute Malqualität. In originalem, zugehörigem, blattvergoldetem Holzrahmen (minimal restauriert) mit reichem Schnitzwerk, hinter Glas. Rückseite mit Inventaretiketten von Olga Nikolaevna "ON Villa" und der Herzogin Vera von Württemberg, Großfürstin von Russland "H.V.v.W. G.v.R. Privat-Eigentum". Rahmenmaße 91 x 75,5 cm. Alexandra Josifovna Romanova, geb. zu Altenburg, war eine Schwägerin von Olga Nikolaevna und die Mutter von Vera Konstantinovna, die von Olga später adoptiert wurde. 1848 heiratete sie in St. Petersburg den Großfürsten von Russland Konstantin Nikolaevich Romanov (1837 - 1892), den sie nach einem seiner Besuche in Stuttgart bei seiner Schwester Olga kennengelernt hatte. Am russischen Zarenhof war sie später unter dem Namen "Tante Sanny" bekannt. Alexandra galt als eine der schönsten und imposantesten Frauen ihrer Zeit. Sie war eine begabte Musikerin und komponierte selbst einige Märsche. Sie besaß eine große Diamantensammlung, die ihr Zar Nikolaus I geschenkt hatte. Als gute Freundin der Zarin Maria Alexandrovna erhielt sie auch Einblicke in das Privatleben der Zarenfamilie. Provenienz: Ursprünglich Großfürstin Olga Nikolaevna Romanova, später in kgl. bayerischen Besitz. Dazu ein Originalfoto aus dem Jahr 1913 des weihnachtlich geschmückten Salonzimmers von Prinz Alfons von Bayern, im Hintergrund rechts an der Wand hängt das angebotene Gemälde. Maße des Fotos 19,4 x 25,5 cm. A child portrait of her sister in law, circa 1832 Finely painted pastel portrait of Queen Marie of Hannover (née Princess of Saxony-Altenburg, 1818 - 1907) with her three sisters Therese (1823-1915), Alexandra (Grand Duchess of Russia, 1830 - 1911), and Elisabeth (Grand Duchess of Oldenburg, 1826 - 1896). 45 x 56 cm. Not signed. Well executed painting. In original, associated gilt wood frame (minimal restorations) with profuse carvings, under glass. The back with inventory labels of Olga Nikolaevna "ON Villa" and of Duchess Vera of Württemberg, Grand Duchess of Russia "H.V.v.W. G.v.R. Privat-Eigentum". Size of frame 91 x 75.5 cm. Alexandra Josifovna Romanova, née zu Altenburg, was a sister-in-law of Olga Nikolaevna and mother of Vera Konstantinova, who was later adopted by Olga. She married the Russian Grand Duke Konstantin Nikolaevich Romanov (1837 - 1892) in St. Petersburg in 1848, whom she had met during one of his visits to Stuttgart, where his sister Olga resided. She was later known at the Russian court as "Aunt Sanny". Alexandra is considered to be one of the most beautiful and distinguished women of her time. She was a gifted musician, who even composed marches. She owned a large collection of diamonds given to her by Tsar Nicholas I. A good friend of Tsarina Maria Alexandrovna, she also gained insight into the private lives of the members of the imperial Russian family. Provenance: Originally owned by Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna Romanova, later belonging to the royal Bavarian estate. Comes with a photo of the for Christmas decorated parlour of Prince Alfons of Bavaria from 1913. On the right side of the background the offered painting is visible. Size of the photo 19.4 x 25.5 cm.
