Sculptor, b. 1958 -

Born in London in 1958, artist Julian Opie is known for his bold figural paintings featuring subjects outlined in black and filled in with blocks of color. He attended Goldsmiths School of Art before beginning his art career as a sculptor. He later branched out into painting, album cover art, and creating LED screens. Julian Opie's prints are a combination of minimalist and Pop Art styles, depicting contemporary figures that represent all facets of modern society.

As an artist, Julian Opie has contributed works to many public spaces and has exhibited his works in museums around the world, from the Tate in London to the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
