Otsup» (on the reverse) Gelatin silver print Vintage print, 1920s. 18 x 13 cm Provenance: Borodulin Collection Pyotr Otsup (1883–1963) was a Soviet photojournalist, photographed many historic events including the Russo-Japanese War, 1905 Russian Revolution, October Revolution in 1917, World War I and Russian Civil War. He was the only photojournalist that took pictures of the Second Congress of Soviets and from 1918 to 1935 he was the official Kremlin’s photographer. ПЕТР ОЦУП (1883–1963) Портрет К.Е. Работал в жанре фоторепортажа, фотографировал многие исторические события — русско-японскую войну, революцию 1905 года, Октябрьскую революцию 1917 года, первую мировую войну, гражданскую войну в России. Он был единственным фоторепортёром, который фотографировал Второй съезд Советов. С 1918 по 1935 годы был «кремлёвским» фотографом, имевшим возможность фотографировать высших руководителей.

Photographed between 1917 and 1928, and printed one c. 1930s, the others c. 1940s; seven are reprints done by the photographer. Provenance: Private collection, UK.
