Surveying Expedition, 1851. (G. 6922). Large format lithograph with hand-coloring heightened in gum arabic, on wove paper, matted and framed, 623 x 878 mm sheet. 2 1/2-in. tear with small loss to lower right corner, 2 1/2-in. closed tear just crossing image left margin, a few pinholes in corners or margin, small surface abrasion to blank area near title, a few stains to margin or verso, old dealer pencil annotations recto and verso. Original Best 50 No. 25. VERY RARE: According to online records, only one example of this print has sold at auction in the last 75 years. Property from a Distinguished Midwestern Collection
