      Est: €800 - €1,000

TATIANA PARCERO (Mexico City, 1967). "Acts of faith#7", 2003. Digital photography. Edition 2/10. With Alberto Cornejo BAT Gallery label on the back. Measurements: 50 x 60 cm; 52 x 62 cm (frame). This work belongs to the series Re-invento/acts of faith, which draws on symbolism of ancient religious traditions that are printed on the skin as a canvas. Tatiana Parcero was born in Mexico and earned a master's degree in Photography and Art Theory from New York University/International Center of Photography and a bachelor's degree in Psychology from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Parcero has exhibited nationally and internationally at venues such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach, California, the Museo Archivo de la Fotografía in Mexico City, and the Festival Terre d'Images in Biarritz, France. He has received numerous awards, including a three-year grant from the Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Arte, Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes (FONCA), Mexico, which allowed him to continue developing his most recent work (Universus). His work is widely collected by photography enthusiasts and distinguished museums and universities. Parcero is an artist whose imagery continually delineates themes of ritual, religion and the intricate traditions of diverse cultures. In her most recent work, Universus, Parcero poetically depicts these themes with images that are superimposed on the image of her own body, communicating ideas related to identity, memory, territory and time. In this and previous series, Parcero has also worked with symbol-covered self-portraits and illustrations to metaphorically trace the lineage between his personal experiences and the human experience in general.

TATIANA PARCERO (Mexico City, 1967). "Re-invention #3". 2006. Photography, pigmented print on paper, copy 11/99. Hand numbered. No signature. Measurements: 100 x 70 cm. In the series Re-invento, which forms part of the MUSAC (Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Castilla y León) collection, Tatiana Parcero includes iconography of ancient religions, images and inscriptions belonging to different civilisations. Photographer Tatiana Parcero initially graduated with a degree in psychology, later pursuing a Master of Arts degree at New York University & International Center of Photography, USA. She began working as a photographer in 1985, and since the early 1990s has concentrated on the body and self-portraiture. Her work is closely related to nature and the human body. Through photography she explores these territories in order to relate them to various ideas such as identity, memory, space and time. He won, in 2008, the second prize at the Salón Nacional de Artes Visuales, at the Palais de Glace, Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 2007, he won fourth place in the art awards at the Museum of Latin American Art (MoLAA), Long Beach, California, USA.
