      PATRIC PARK (SCOTTISH, 1811-1855) WHITE MARBLE BUST OF A YOUNG LADY signed on the reverse 'PARK. LONDn 1846', on a socle (74cm high) Footnote: Note: Patric Park was born in Glasgow into a family of statuaries and masons. Before the age of twenty he had executed work at Hamilton Palace and Murthley Castle, before training in Rome for two years under Thorwaldsen. His portrait busts were particularly well regarded for expressing energy and tenderness. He exhibited many works at the RA and the RSA and examples of his work are held by the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, the Glasgow Museum and the Geological Museum, London, amongst other places.
