Rising to international fame, Kim Parker continues to influence the world of textiles with her floral prints. Parker creates a variety of products and collections that enhance the beauty of any home.

Parker is a native New Yorker who has been designing textiles for the fashion and home industries for over a decade. While she was interested in music during her childhood, she pursued a career in design. With no formal design education, Parker experimented in textiles, prints, and posters in her New York City studio. She began selling hand-painted silk textiles from her studio in 1995, but she didn’t create a personal brand or cohesive collection until six years later.
Career

Parker launched her own label of modern floral designs on products such as rugs, tableware, pillows, stationery, and wall art in 2001. Since the unveiling of her product line, she has sold reproductions of her artwork to many top retailers around the world. Collaborating with Hallmark UK, Graphique de France, and Galison, she has produced several calendar and stationery collections. In 2004, Bloomingdale’s picked up Parker’s bedding and bath collections and began selling the products in local stores. Her designs became an instant hit with customers, and Bloomingdale’s commissioned her to create two new collections: India Dreams and Woodland Floral. These two creations became the first designer bedding ensembles to achieve bestseller status at the company. From 2004 to 2010, Parker sold her designer rug collection through The Rug Company. Her design Mums and Asters quickly became an international bestseller and won three notable British awards, including the D&D Award for design and decoration. In 2010, Parker launched her own collection of rugs under her personal label, Kim Parker Home. In addition to textiles, Parker launched a line of tableware and giftware, Kim Parker, with Spode. Her colorful and unique designs have appeared in popular television shows such as “Sex and the City,” “The Office,” and “Lost.” Her products are also featured in numerous international design publications, sharing her brand and products with customers all over the world.
Fun Facts

Scholastic published Parker’s first children’s book in 2005.
As a child, Parker dreamed of becoming a classical flutist.
