Large circular engraving consisting of roughly 200 small diff. engr. scenes w. the buste of Jean de La Fontaine in the centre, Ø 44 cm., "Le Cte. de Paroy 1789" in the plate in the centre. - Damaged copy, lacking a portion of roughly 6x15 cm. in the margin, for the greater part waterstained (vaguely) and w. a few closed marginal tears. Sold w.a.f. = Very curious and charming engraving, or rather a myriad of miniature engravings, thought to be made by De Paroy, who was a celebrated miniaturist, to show off his skills. Rare.
