    Est: €500 - €800

160 a pag. 168 nella monografia di Carmela Baroncini (Edit. Faenza, 2010). Dopo i primi lavori e i primi successi in patria venne chiamato a prestare servizio a Mantova, Torino e Roma. Lorenzo Pasinelli (Bologna 1629 - 1700) circle/follower of Madonna with Child Jesus and St. Catherine of Alexandria Oil on canvas 61 x 46 cm The artwork, dated between the 17th and 18th century, is a version by the workshop or by a painter in the circle of the bolognese master. There are four autograph versions published from p. 160 on p. 168 in the monograph by Carmela Baroncini (Edit. Faenza, 2010).

    Nov. 29, 2022

    LORENZO PASINELLI (BOLOGNA 1629 - 1700)

    Est: €4,000 - €6,000

Lorenzo Pasinelli (Bologna 1629 - 1700) Figura femminile orante o Santa Lucia (?) Lorenzo Pasinelli (Bologna 1629 - 1700) Praying female figure or Saint Lucia (?) Oil on canvas 71 x 56 cm The artwork could realistically be the dispersed canvas from which Antonio Galanguzzi's etching was derived. As further support for our thesis, please see: Allegory of Sculpture from the National Gallery of Ireland in Dublin; Maddalena renounces vanities, auctioned on 07/11/1994 at Sotheby's in New York; Magdalene in meditation at the castle of Valtice in Breclav.

Lorenzo Pasinelli (cerchia_di) (Bologna 1629-Bologna 1700) - Diana and her nymphs in the bathroom, 17th century

    Est: -

Oil painting on canvas In the 2nd half of the 17th century Lorenzo Pasinelli was one of the most important painters of the Emilia-Romagna school. He was a pupil of Simone Cantarini and Flaminio Torri, both trained under the influence of Guido Reni, for this reason he was able to observe and metabolize the stylistic canons of Reni's classicism and the characteristics of technique, design and color. The work is presented as a preparatory sketch, crowded with figures, complex as a composition. Remarkable is the palette that makes the work rich and brilliant for a well-balanced color variety in the chiaroscuro adaptation of the shadows and darks. The characters are numerous, as often happens in his compositions, and have solid and well-rounded shapes, the coloristic exaltation of the fabrics is moderated by the dark tones that dominate the background. Ultimately an essential and moderate Baroque taste. ASORstudio

BILDNIS EINER SIBYLLE Öl auf Leinwand. 98 x 76 cm. The depiction seamlessly fits into a series of similar subjects of Sybil depictions but also compositionally similar paintings of female half figures such as Saint Cecilia from 1665, a Lute Player, Mary Magdalene or Sophonisba from 1649. The painting is executed in fine brushwork typical for the artist using delicate sfumato contours.

LORENZO PASINELLI, att. to (Bologna 1629 - 1700) SIBILLA WITH AMPHORA SIBILLA A pair of oil paintings on canvas, cm. 152 x 113 PROVENANCE Illustrious private collection, Milan The paintings find stylistic and iconographic references in works attributed to Lawrence Pasinelli. Particularly the Sibilla with amphora finds a reference in a further Sibilla in action to write of unknown location, datable to the seventies of the 17th century (Carmela Baroncini, Lawrence Pasinelli, Faenza 1993, pp. 206-208). The reference to the work assigned to Pasinelli is suggested both from the same posture of the character, and from the volumetries created by the ampleness of the dresses and the body. Also the Sibilla with the open book finds reference with a Giuditta it dates to the Pasinelli of unknown private collection bolognese (ibidem, pp. 258-262). Also in this case the reference emerges from the identical posture of the two characters and from the same manner of the dresses CONDITIONS OF THE PAINTINGS First painting with original lining, second painting with recent re-lining. Two patches to the right of the figure of which one with fall of painting, in the first painting. A further fall of painting to the left accompanied by some restoration points, always in the first painting. Restoration points almost oxidized spread in the ground, in the second painting. FRAMES Molded frames in giltwood carved to leaves of the end of the 17th century LORENZO PASINELLI, att. a (Bologna 1629 - 1700) SIBILLA CON ANFORA SIBILLA Coppia di dipinti ad olio su tela, cm. 152 x 113 PROVENIENZA Illustre collezione privata, Milano I dipinti trovano riferimenti stilistici ed iconografici con opere censite come Lorenzo Pasinelli.

(1070904) (21) Lorenzo Pasinelli, 1629 Bologna - 1700, attributed THE MARTYRDOM OF SAINT URSULA Oil on canvas. 61,5 x 78 cm. This beautiful and, until now, unknown chiaroscuro painting is probably a sketch for a version that is today held at the Pinacoteca Nazionale in Bologna, one of the painter's masterpieces. In her revised catalogue on Pasinelli (Lorenzo Pasinelli, Faenza 1993, pp. 266-269) Carmela Baroncini mentions two possible preliminary sketches for the large depiction of the Martyrdom of Saint Ursula in the Pinacoteca in Bologna. One is held at the Museum of Chambery, a painting of high quality but with clear variations from the final version in Bologna. The other sketch is not as successful and is held at the Accademia Ligustica in Genova.

Lorenzo Pasinelli, 1629 Bologna - 1700 MAGDALENA ALS BÜSSERIN Öl auf Leinwand. 190 x 132 cm. (1000541) (12) Lorenzo Pasinelli, 1629 Bologna - 1700 THE PENITENT MARY MAGDALENE Oil on canvas. 190 x 132 cm. Accompanied by a copy of the expert‘s report by Giuseppe Maria Pilo. In the second half of the 17th century Lorenzo Pasinelli was one of the most important painters of the Emilia-Romagna School. Guido Reni painted the Penitent Mary Magdalene numerous times, creating different versions, whereas Pasinelli closely adheres to Reni‘s version showing the full figure of Mary Magdalene. Pasinelli added a few details to Reni's version: the host of angels is larger. He has also added an open book lying on the rock and chooses a more moderate facial expression and posture. The present painting was probably created in the 1670s. Stylistically it resembles other works from Pasnielli‘s early work.
