Mounted on strong cardboard. On verso with mounted label with typewritten designation, photographer's stamp and stamp of the previous owner. - With tiny pressure mark, otherwise in very good condition.

      "Verkündigung" (Proclamation) sculpture (1924) by Georg Kolbe, in the Behnhaus museum garden, Lübeck; Regenpfeifer (plover). Circa 1927. 2 vintage warm-toned gelatin silver prints. 23 x 17 cm and 17 x 23,2 cm. Both with photographer's Phot. A. Renger-Patzsch, Bad-Harzburg stamp, reproduction limitation stamp as well as annotated in pencil on the verso. Georg Kolbe's sculpture "Verkündigung" was designed as a memorial for the booksellers of Leipzig who died in WWI. The sculpture was purchased in 1927 by the Lübeck museum director Carl Georg Heise for the Behnhaus. Heise, who was friends with Albert Renger-Patzsch, asked him to photograph the statue shortly after it was erected. In 1933 Heise was suspended as museum director and the sculpture was replaced by a replica in 1940. Today the original is in the Georg Kolbe Museum, Berlin. - Second print with light handling creases, one stronger in upper right, otherwise rich tonal prints in near excellent condition.
