PEDRO ANTONIO SAORÍN BOX (Cieza, Murcia, 1944). Untitled, 2005. Polychrome iron sculpture. Metal base. Signed and dated. The polychromy has slight losses.

        Est: €2,200 - €2,500

PEDRO ANTONIO SAORÍN BOX (Cieza, Murcia, 1944). Untitled, 2005. Polychrome iron sculpture. Metal base. Signed and dated. It has slight losses in the polychromy. Measurements: 47 x 59 x 48 cm (sculpture); 100 x 59 x 30 cm (base). Pedro Antonio Saorín works the metal in an exceptional way, breaking it down into fibres and planes, with straight lines and some curves. The ephemeral and the vibrant dominate the material of his sculptures. For Saorín, metal is not the dominant power and hard mass that characterises the work of other sculptors, but he treats his works as if they were painting, subjecting them so that "they are like a high relief". In his production we can observe a taste for diversity and experimentation, becoming close to different artistic styles, such as ornamental symbolism, expressionism and even a structural conceptualism close to cubism. A self-taught poet, writer, painter and sculptor, Saorín's artistic work has attracted the attention of experts and the public, who have highlighted the connection between his work and reality, taking the essence of it both figuratively and dehumanised. His work has attracted the attention of experts and the public for its authenticity and its connection with reality (he takes the essence of reality in both the figurative and the dehumanised). Both his sculptures and his paintings show a clear involvement with his thoughts, as well as a striking intensity and a rigid and steely rupture that reflects his own life. Pedro Saorín has exhibited his work in different places of great artistic relevance, among which the cities of Colombia, Venezuela, Palma de Mallorca, Madrid, Switzerland, Argentina, United States (New York), Russia (Moscow), etc. stand out. Today his works are kept in private collections all over the world as well as in important institutions such as the London City Council Collections, Siyasa Museum in Murcia.
