b. 1939 -

Devizes UK 1939 Been in Australia since 55 lived also Tasmania .NZ She has long been regarded as one of the Coasts most important artists and first began exhibiting here in the early 80s at the Broadbeach Art Gallery at a time when there was far less art activity on the Coast than there is today.

Since that time Pennington has exhibited regularly in Queensland and beyond. She opened the Nerang Gallery in 1982 where she exhibited her own work as well as that of artists from throughout Australia.

In its time it was considered an important part of the Gold Coasts art scene, and continued throughout the 80s until 89.Pennington has always been known for her use of glorious vibrant colour, and choice of subjects which generally relate to her own world and environment. In this exhibition she will be showing still life works of fruit and flowers where the richness of her palette reflects the uniqueness of the colours of sub-tropical Queensland.

She will also be exhibiting landscapes of South East Queensland and other areas including the Far North.I feel my painting refect the diversity and colour of the Australian bush and tropical areas, What subject matter I start out with rapidly changes as I find and get lost in a rhythm of colour and shapes, blocking in colour, I feel I work free. and intuitively and have a infinity with the Australian landscapes and plants .

To me painting is a form of meditation, and it gives me a lot of pleasure.
