        CARLOS PÉREZ SIQUIER (Almería, 1930 - 2021) . "Marilyn." Photograph, copy 33/35. Signed and justified by hand on the back. Measurements: 123 x 123 cm. Carlos Pérez Siquier was a Spanish photographer, considered one of the pioneers of the photographic avant-garde in Spain and awarded the National Photography Prize in 2003. He was a supernumerary academic of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Nuestra Señora de las Angustias in Granada. Between 1956 and 1963 he directed, together with José María Artero García, the Almeriense Photographic Group, whose magazine AFAL collected the work and concerns of what would become the photographic avant-garde. Starting with the exhibition "Pérez Siquier", curated by Laura Terré for the La Caixa Foundation, with a Lunwerg catalog and which toured several provinces, his activity became incessant. Some awards: Awards: 2003: National Photography Award that is accompanied by the Exhibition and Catalog in 2005, "Pérez Siquier-La Mirada". 2003: Gold Medal of Andalusia. 2005: "Pablo Ruiz Picasso" Prize for Plastic Arts. Ministry of Culture of the Junta de Andalucía 2013: Bartolomé Ros Award "for his work as a promoter of photography, through the AFAL group and for his work in color that opened the doors for the expansion of the borders of photography in the years sixty and seventy.
