      Title is Western Splendor. 16" by 20" unframed, 23" by 27" framed. Jean J. Perry (Born 1935) is active/lives in Colorado, Kansas. Jean Perry is known for Realist and abstract landscape with buildings, snowscenes, floral views. Jean J. Perry started art classes at age five when her mother sent her to Saturday lessons at the Nelson Atkins Museum in Kansas City, Mo. Summer classes continued until college where she majored in Fine arts at the University of Colorado. It was during this time that she began painting in an abstract, non-objective style. Jean continued sporadic lessons through the early years of marriage and raising four children. In 1980 Jean and her husband, Gil moved to Steamboat Springs, Colorado and she decided to make a full time commitment to her love of art. Signing up for a local plein air workshop taught by Mel Fillerup of Wyoming she discovered the joys of painting on location. "We painted every day even in a spring snow storm and I knew I had found my direction." Since that time Jean has continued her art education with classes at the Scottsdale Artists School, workshops with many instructors including private lessons with Mark Daily in Denver. Her style of painting has evolved from abstract to a more traditional form of impressionism working mainly in oil. Landscapes seem to dominate her work but she enjoys painting animals, still life and portraits. Jean has painted and traveled all over the world including Indonesia, Europe, Mexico and Canada. She teaches workshops every year with several different organizations. The most prestigious oil painting organizations in America have voted her a signature membership including the Plein Air Painters of America, Oil Painters of America, Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters Society and an honorary membership in the Tucson Plein Air Painters Society. Her paintings can be found in shows from New York to California including the Arts for the Parks Top 100, The Salmagundi Club in New York City, Laguna Art Museum, Clymer Museum in Washington, Desert Caballeros Museum in Arizona and the Haggin Museum in Stockton, California.

      Jean J. Perry (Colorado/Kansas, Born 1935) signed framed original oil painting on canvas [Western Splendor]. Measures 16 x 20 inches image size and 23 x 26.5 inches framed, Gallery framed. Excellent condition. If lot is absent of a condition report one may be requested via email. Condition report is provided as an opinion only and is no guarantee as grading can be subjective. Buyer must view photographs or scans to assist in determining condition and ask further questions if so desired. Our in-house shipping department will gladly pack and ship any item that fits into a 14x14x14 inch or 30x5x24 inch or equivalent or smaller box/folio if it is not fragile or over 25lbs. We will charge for labor to pack and process based on actual time it takes, actual cost of materials used to pack and actual shipper charges that will include insurance and signature required. We generally use USPS and Fed Ex and compare the pricing between the two. Books maximum box size will be 14x14x14 inch or equivalent and will be shipped USPS Media Mail unless otherwise requested. We gladly will give shipping estimates prior to auction. Please make this request at least 24 hours prior to auction for our shipping department to respond. If your invoice is for multiple items, we will use our discretion on requiring the use of an outside shipper. We reserve the right to require an outside shipper on any item(s) in the auction even if not stated.
