Artist Biography: Born in Tokyo, Japan, Rachel Perry’s work is held in numerous museums and private collections around the world, including the Museum of Fine Arts and the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, the Baltimore Museum of Art, the Ford Foundation, and the List Visual Arts Center at MIT. Perry has received four Fellowships from the MacDowell Colony, has been to Yaddo and ArtOmi, and was Artist-in-Residence at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in October of 2014, beginning an affiliation that continues today. She is a three-time recipient of the Massachusetts Cultural Council Award for Excellence, the only artist in its history to win in three separate disciplines: Photography, Drawing, and Sculpture.

      Rachel Perry (b. 1962), Cooper Brothers Honeycrisp fruit stickers and archival tape on paper, signed, titled, and dated 2007 on the verso, retains gallery label to frame verso, framed under UV glass. Sheet Size 11 x 11 in.; DOA 15 x 15 in. A conceptual artist working in a multitude of mediums, Rachel Perry's work is in numerous prominent public collections including Museum of Fine Arts and the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, the Baltimore Museum of Art, and the List Visual Arts Center at MIT. The present work is from her series of Fruit Sticker Drawings, in which used produce stickers create graceful maps and drawings intended to represent the many layers of information (economic, political, geographic, social) stored within the story arc of an apple.
